CBCT Scanning - The Technical Details

Nigel Jones uses the latest award winning i-CAT cone beam computerised tomography (CBCT):

Remarkably fast and accurate:

  • Rapid 8.9 second scan time
  • Full 3D reconstruction in less than 20 seconds
  • Benefit from distortion-free images to reveal critical anatomical details
  • Transition quickly from a 3D to 2D panoramic in one mouse click

Targeted treatments and surgical predictability:

  • 360 degree, 3D scans capture oral and maxillofacial features
  • Standard ‘jaw’ scan is 8 centimeters in diameter by 8 centimeters height.  Supports implant planning, endodontics and oral surgeries.
  • Entended diameter scan is 14 centimeters in diameter by 8 centimeters height.  Assists with TMJ evaluation and airway analysis.

File sizes:

  • Standard ‘jaw’ scan -  20MB
  • Extended diameter scan - 76MB

Considerable radiation reduction, in comparison to conventional CT units.
