CBCT Scan Procedure

Outline of the procedure for CBCT scanning

CBCT scan procedure – how is the CT scan performed?

The CBCT scan is taken with the patient seated and upright, preserving the natural position of the teeth as well as being reassuring for anxious or claustrophobic patients. The patient will be asked to stay still whilst the x-ray source and detector revolve around the patient for a 360-degree rotation. The whole procedure only takes a few seconds, so is quick, painless and non-invasive. No radiation remains in a patient’s body following the procedure.

Bookings are only accepted as a referral from a Dentist.  The referral should justify the exposure.
