Endodontics Case Study - Endodontic Failure

Mrs SR from Cardiff was referred to us because she had experienced pain following the re-cementing of her post crown, and her GDP wondered whether the retro-glade root filling had been disturbed by the re-cementing, or whether the tooth had cracked as there was blood in the root-canal.

With the benefit of the cross-sectional image there is little doubt as to why the patient is experiencing pain.  The tooth was condemned by our endodontist from the image.

However the image allowed us to offer Mrs R the option of an immediately placed and loaded implant because of the opportunity for primary stability from the height of bone above the failed tooth.
